It's Raw cultured food, or Kim Chi or what we call Sauerkraut in the west.
* Austrain translation Sauer=sour, Kraut=green/plant
According to the book Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates, Pregnant women should eat raw cultured vegetables to ensure ecosystems will be rich in friendly bacteria. If you ever heard the TV Ads say eating yogurt is great for you and will help you live longer. It's the same bacteria we are talking about here except the store bought yogurt are full of dead bacteria because it's pasturized. The pasturization (heating) destroy precious enzymes. Anyways, Donna also said veggies also help alleviate morning sickness during early part of the pregnancy (that's why you hear pregnant women crave pickles). And eating cultured veggies and it's juice should be continued after the baby is born.
Oh and the amazing thing for parents with colic babies, the liquid from the cultured vegetables can be fed to the baby in a tiny spoonful to relieve the symtom. I've never tried this. I'm quite convinced though because Stella is not a colic baby and I've been eating KimChi since i was pregnant with her...
Good luck and don't forget to try my Kimchi recipe @ http://mrspunzone.blogspot.com/2010/05/i-love-kimchi.html
