Clearing 1: Happy Hippy Parent

All my life I've been in and out of relationships because of my roller coaster mood. There was a time when my ex-boyfriend and all his friends called me"Tsunami".  Part of me wasn't amused by the sound of it because I wasn't happy with my own behavior and I didn't know what was wrong with me so I always blamed it on PMS.  I'm sure PMS has a lot to do with it.  There are a lot of things that caused PMS, food, lifestyle, and exercise, etc.  At the time I didn't know about yoga yet, and being an actress, I was always on a diet trying to make myself look as skinny as possible, I was smoking and partying, the lists could go on and on on how my PMS was killing the relationships with my ex-lovers and MYSELF.

Today, I do my "work", which is yoga, meditation(as much as I can), I eat better, I've stopped smoking for many years, I don't party anymore.  Yet my roller coaster mood is still here.  WHY!

I tend to snap a lot.  I wake up feeling moody.  I have attitude. And the person who's effected by this is my  husband.

I'm ashamed of my behavior. I don't want my husband or my child to be unhappy. But at the same time is hate being judged.  It hurts when someone points out your flaws.  But today, I let my ego be crushed to the ground by my husband.  Vincent pointed out all the bad things he sees in me and I had to bite my tongue, smiled, and answer YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT BABY.

I have to tell you it hurts as hell saying that, I almost cried but seconds later.

Something shifted, I feel free.  And here I am Clearing myself for the second time with you, the people I love.  I ask the Universe today to be free from this behavior.

I pray to be a Happy Hippy Parent.  I don't mind if Stella goes around and smile at everybody she sees, I want her to be a happy person.  And that has to start with me.

Thank you Vincent for everything.  You're my GURU

Clearing (Intro)

I'm reading a book called Sacred Commerce, written by founders of Cafe Gratitude a raw food restaurant in Bay area.
Sacred Commerce <br> Business as a Path of Awakening

Clearing is a method Cafe Gratitude use with their employees which will benefit everybody in daily life as well...

"Clearing is a basic technique for distinguishing how the past is impacting the present and then presenting an opportunity to create something new and shift one's attention to something more empowering".

I've found this opportunity of being on this blog to do my Clearing.  I'll be exposing my inner baggage from the past and present.  The reason for this?  It's because I'd like to be free from suffering, it gives me chances to tell the truth, in truth lies freedom, and freedom feels great.  I'd like to be a better, happier and mentally healthier person.

If you find this too personal to take and could care less about me.  Just ignore any post that say "Clearing".

Freedom to all humankind...

Are you Squatting?

Wikipedia:

Squatting consists of occupying an abandoned or unoccupied space or building, usually residential,[1] that the squatter does not own, rent or otherwise have permission to use. According to author Robert Neuwirth, there are one billion squatters globally, that is, about one in every six people on the planet.

Yeah that's right!  And the bad news is we have a bunch of squatters/ drug dealers moved in next to our house about a month ago.  This is leading us to look for a new place to live ASAP!  We can't live in this situation anymore, especially not with Stella.  I'm feeling weird in my belly everyday, it's like living in fear 24/7.  It's not fun.  Therefore, we'll be out of LA.  by the end of June.  Where?  we will keep you posted. Hopefully somewhere beautiful, safe, clean and no squatters (at least not next door or in the area).

See ya soon...

Ideal food or pregnant and nursing women

It's Raw cultured food, or Kim Chi or what we call Sauerkraut in the west.
* Austrain translation Sauer=sour, Kraut=green/plant

According to the book Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates, Pregnant women should eat raw cultured vegetables to ensure ecosystems will be rich in friendly bacteria.  If you ever heard the TV Ads say eating yogurt is great for you and will help you live longer.  It's  the same bacteria we are talking about here except the store bought yogurt are full of dead bacteria because it's pasturized. The pasturization (heating) destroy precious enzymes.  Anyways, Donna also said veggies also help alleviate morning sickness during early part of the pregnancy (that's why you hear pregnant women crave pickles). And eating cultured veggies and it's juice should be continued after the baby is born.

Oh and the amazing thing for parents with colic babies, the liquid from the cultured vegetables can be fed to the baby in a tiny spoonful to relieve the symtom.  I've never tried this. I'm quite convinced though because Stella is not a colic baby and I've been eating KimChi since i was pregnant with her...

Good luck and don't forget to try my Kimchi recipe @ http://mrspunzone.blogspot.com/2010/05/i-love-kimchi.html

Affirmations for an easy comfortable birthing

These are from my beloved sister in England who just gave birth to twin babies, Caira and Atiya. Thank you Beata.

For my lovely friends who are about to become amazing mothers. Especially Anika, my best friend.

* I fully relax and turn my birthing over to nature. (My favorite)
* I feel confident. I feel safe. I feel secure.
* I trust my body to know what it is to do.
* I am relaxed and happy that my baby is finally coming to me.
* My mind is relaxed and my body is relaxed.

Feel free to come up with your own as well.  I wrote these on a small piece of paper and repeat them silently at least 3 times everyday.

May your birth be easy, painless, and sacred.

Love and light to you mothers and angels inside you.

Cradle cap...

Got the car today. Did 4 loads of laundry, went to the park, fresh & easy to get some veggies and Staples for Vincent's stuff...

Stella was crying in the car quite a bit...

The park wasn't as nice as when Vincent is around.  Practiced some Poi. Got down some new moves.. Yay!

Made Spinach and artichoke salad for dinner for Vincent.  For tomorrow's lunch, made quinoa, kale& hijiki salad, and marinated portabello mushroom.

So happy Stella's head is back to normal.  Cradle cap is so not cute. Thanks to  baby lotion.  I was using olive oil and tea tree oil and i didn't work for 2 weeks so i tried the baby lotion and it came right off.  It gave me an 'ooh' feeling peeling it off.  I'm one of those people who loves picking scab...hehheh...

Joshua tree and my Beautiful Monday

We had such a great weekend. Camping in Joshua Tree was so magical.

And today we woke up very early, took a family walk and then went to griffith park. Vincent and Stella had their well deserved nap. Thank you Universe for the beautiful nature and people around me.  I am so blessed.

I love Kimchi

I have been home schooling myself on the benefits of probiotics for the past year.  I eventually and very luckily found a book called The body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates at a local used books store for $10.  (www.readbookseaglerock.com ) The book is so amazing I'm learning so much about how bodies work and about what type of food is good for me.  Haven't finished it though, as we know, being Stella's mama is my full time job so to read a a few pages is not easy let alone a whole book.

Anyways, so one of the most beneficial food for your body is Kimchi.  My Thai family probably thinks see Korean barbecue is good for you (always try to prove to me how being a vegetarian is a nonsense radical idea)!  No no wait i only say kimchi not the smelly beef stuff.  So I've been making my own kimchi 3 batches already.  My husband loves it.  He wasn't a big fan of kimchi or anything citrusy but my kimchi changed his strong mind!  He brings it to work and shared it with his friends.

Keep in mind and don't be intimidated by the look or it's name.  It's so easy to make. Well if a busy mama like me can make it, you can too..

If you know me I'm not so big on measuring when i'm in the kitchen. So use your intuition and be in the moment, taste as you go.  Good luck!

Here's the recipe:
This is a basic recipe but you can use any of your favorite vegetables or even adding fruits like apples or pear if you'd like.

Here's what in mine..

1. The veggies
Napa cabbage - 1 or 2 heads (depends on how much you're making)
Dill*, Thinly sliced carrots, kale (any kind), bok choy, garlic, ginger, lemon (peeled and seeded)
Grind everything up in food processor if you haven't got one then chop them up with sharp knife.

Put the veggies in big mixing bowl (and i mean really big, a clean bucket is even better, keep it especially for kimchi making)

2. Give it some L O V E!
Add about at least 1- 2 table spoon of sea salt.  And massage the veggies.  Yes baby massage it.  Give it all the love you have.  This kimchi is going to do so good for your body so love it.  Use both hands.  Massage until you see the juice come out. Taste it, it shouldn't be salty but you should taste the salt, if you know what i mean.

3. Spices

Add cayenn pepper or chilli powder into the mixing bowl.  I love spicy cuz i'm Thai so i put like 2 table spoon (trying to be considerate to my American husband). And again toss it, mix it around with the veggies.  At this point you might want to use a tong cuz your hand might get burned.  And if you have babies, they might not be that happy.

4. Finishing touches

Now pour sesame oil, white sesame seeds (raw is better than toasted, but it's all up to you), and lastly rice vinegar. Mix it up. With your hands (if don't want to burn your hands then put gloves on) and a little body weight to compress the veggies.

5. Taste it

Just remember you'll be culturing (fermenting) this so the taste will get stronger ( more sour). You can always add sea salt as you eat it.

6. Pack & store
Put the veggies into a glass jar. Try not to use plastic, the acid will bring the smell of chemical out...Yuk! Leave about 2 inches of room at the top of the bottle before capping it tightly with a lid. Allow bottle of kim chi to sit at room temperature for 2-3 days.

7. Voila!

Your kim chi is now ready to eat. Use scissors or a knife and cutting board to cut cabbage leaves into 2 inch pieces before serving as a side dish to a bowl of rice, soup, and perhaps a piece of fish. Refrigerate remaining kim chi and take out small portions right before meals. The refrigerated kim chi will continue to ferment slowly in the refrigerator over time, becoming more sour and flavorful with each passing day. So long as you use clean utensils to take out small portions, it will keep for up to a month in your refrigerator.

Kim chi, miso soup, a bowl of quinoa, and some shredded nori is my typical lunch high in omega-3 fatty acids, protein and friendly bacteria.

* this is what makes my kimchi "the kimchi"

Good luck and let me know how your belly likes it.

Love to all.
